How to cook chicken breast fillets

Bring the fillets out of the fridge 15 minutes before cooking. For even cooking, flatten the thick end slightly between two sheets of baking paper. Roast at 200°C (180°C fan) for 20 to 25 minutes, or pan-fry over a medium-high heat for 6 to 8 minutes a side. Chicken is done when the thickest part reaches 75°C, the juices run clear and there's no pink in the middle. Rest for a few minutes before slicing so it stays juicy.

Delivery: Packed and delivered chilled in an insulated box, nationwide across the UK.

Chicken breast FAQs

How long does chicken breast take to cook in the oven?

Around 20 to 25 minutes at 200°C (180°C fan) for an average fillet. Larger fillets can take up to 30 minutes, so check the centre rather than relying on the clock.

How do I know when chicken breast is cooked?

Cut into the thickest part: the meat should be white all the way through with clear juices. A food thermometer is the surest check, at 75°C in the centre.

How much protein is in chicken breast?

Roughly 23g per 100g raw, which is why it's a staple for meal prep and high-protein diets. Check the pack label for exact nutrition figures.

How do I keep chicken breast from drying out?

Don't overcook it. Flatten fillets to an even thickness, take them off the heat as soon as they hit 75°C and let them rest. A quick brine or marinade also helps.
